Writer of Wrongs
I wasn’t really around in 1982. I mean, I was alive but I was an infant. So, I wouldn’t say I was aware of what was going on around me.
Why set a paranormal romance in 1982?
Honestly? It was because I was bingeing Murder, She Wrote on whatever streaming service that show is on. I fell in love with all the successful career women in it. They were brazenly forging a path for other women, marking their territory in a man’s world. I wanted to write a story about that struggle.
Not to mention all of the 80s tropes! Gosh, I love 80s television tropes. Fast cars, conspicuous consumption, corrupt corporate executives, country clubs, double standards, betrayal, and - my favourite of them all - office romance. Everything was big in the 1980s, and I wanted to tell a story in that oversized world.
Settling on 1982 was easy–I was born that year, so why not? Plus it would be before the 80s got into full swing; before the hairspray and neon really took over.
The idea of a corporate witch made me giggle. Of course(!) there are corporate witches in a paranormal world that mirrors our own. It made sense to me. Enter Vivian, our corporate witch, newly promoted head of Research and Development at Prince Charms.
I had an enormous amount of fun writing this book. I hope you enjoy a tale of two corporate professionals falling in love all the while fighting a psychic vampire bent on taking over the company.
