Winter is coming means it's time to get prepared to hunker down for 3 months.
I'm not sure if there are a lot of good movies after a book, but I did enjoy Stephen King's The Stand mini-series from the 90s.

Winter isn't really a thing where I live. Most books are better than movies.
Winter is coming represents onset of snow, ice, cold and high heating bills!
I felt the movie Unbroken did not so good enough justice to the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
It means misery for the next few months. I am not a fan of Winter.

For me Winter Is Coming represents the shorter, cooler days and the long, cold nights, the approaching holidays and the extra time that I get to spend with family and friends and finally, hot cocoa, hot spiced apple cider and lots of delicious food that for some reason we only consume during the holidays

Game of Thrones. To me it means a reckoning, the Snow Walkers are nearly upon us.
The Best movie after a book in my opinion was The Lord of the Rings starring Viggo Mortensen. Those films were the best movie adaptations of a book that I have ever seen
The Harry Potter series is the best example of a good book and a good movie. If a book is good then I will watch the movie. If the book is bad then I won't watch the movie.
Winter is coming so I have make sure I have my coat, boots, gloves and scarf all ready. I also make sure that my car has a shovel and ice scraper in it.
"Winter is coming" means making sure the house heater is working. "Sphere" was a good movie/book.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett is the best one.
I live in the south for a reason...I hate winter! My cats hate it...My car even hates it! It's not so bad where I live. I think I have wore a coat maybe 8 times in a winter season. I have maybe seen snow 5 times in my life. I hate snow also. It cripples our city. I really get depressed.
