Sentinals Recovery is a side story. Which is why I labelled it book 3.5. This book is extra special because I never intended writing it. But I physically couldn’t get Birlerion back to Greenswatch to bond with his Darian stallion, within the timeline of Sentinals Justice, book three of the series.
Book four, Sentinals Across Time, due out in Spring 2022, is two years on so I wanted to explain the importance of Birlerion bonding with his Darian before then as it is mentioned on occasions in the second and third books. It felt like a gap to me, a loose thread and the story needed writing.
Of course, it also gave me the chance to meet some amazing new characters and to get to know some of the other characters we previously only met in passing. It was fun to build out the relationship between Birlerion and his brother Versillion.
I also have a free novella set about seven years before the first book Sentinals Awaken, called Sentinals Stirring. If you sign up to my newsletter you can download it for free, or you can purchase it via Amazon if you prefer. In Sentinals Stirring we see how my main characters, Jerrol and Taelia, first meet, and their first step on the Lady’s path. Although Jerrol and Taelia are quite young in Sentinals Stirring, they are adult by the time the main series begins.
