a torture he isn't sure he can endure... The Twisted Oak by Sarah Hadley Brook

"I loved everything about The Twisted Oak. This is a second chance, best friends brother romance that checked off all the boxes! You can feel the need, passion and love [...]" kathleen, Goodreads

Description:

Published: December 27th, 2019

Wade Dwyer's life is turned upside down when his father dies and he learns he must marry or he and his siblings will lose the ranch. One last jab of the knife from his father. On top of that, his father's only friend knows about the stipulation and is determined to own the property by any means necessary.

He's facing the very real possibility of being the reason his family loses their home when his brother's best friend, Lance Matthews, offers to walk down the aisle with him. A faux marriage to the man he's loved for years is a torture he isn't sure he can endure.

Can he keep the ranch ... and the man of his dreams, too?

GUEST POST
Why Do I Write Gay Romance?

That’s a question I hear often and there are really two reasons why I write MM Romance. First of all, while I didn’t start out writing LGBTQ stories, I’ve always found it easier to write from the male perspective. For some reason, it comes naturally to me. Even looking back to my childhood stories, I wrote from the boy’s perspective most of the time.

Secondly, I credit my uncle for teaching me acceptance and love of everyone. I adored my uncle Damon. He lived in New York City in the 70’s and 80’s, traveled the world, and lived his life out in the open, choosing to share his life with his partner and not let the world determine his happiness, or dictate who he should be allowed to love.

In my eyes, he wasn’t just the “cool” uncle, he someone that showed me how important it was to tell people how you felt. I even have a poem he had a friend write for me and I keep it hung in my bedroom.

When he passed away from AIDS in the 80s, it was devastating and I missed him terribly. The love between Damon and his partner was demonstrated in everything they did, from a simple kiss on the cheek, to how they handled Damon’s illness.

In stark contrast, my father was a cold man, who judged everyone and everything, including his family. As I grew up, these men both played a part in the path I chose. Between the two, I knew the kind of person I wanted to become.

When I found MM Romance, I was thrilled to find a genre that came naturally to me and I’ve never looked back.
About the author:
Sarah Hadley Brook lives smack-dab in the middle of the Heartland and is the mother of two wonderful young men, as well as two cats. During the day, she works in the non-profit world, but reserves evenings for her hobby-turned-passion of writing, letting the characters she conjures up in her mind take the lead and show her where the story will go. When not working or writing, she can be found reading, working on dollhouses, trying her hand at new recipes, or watching old movies and musicals. In her ideal world, Christmas would come at least twice a year, Rock Hudson and Doris Day would have co-starred in more than three movies, and chocolate would be a daily necessity to live. She dreams of traveling to Scotland some day and visiting the places her ancestors lived. Sarah believes in “Happily Ever After” and strives to ensure her characters find their own happiness in love and life.
