only one thing is certain: The Acquisition always ends in blood - Counsellor (Acquisition #1) by Celia Aaron

18++ “I've never been a good man.
My darkness is neither restrained nor buried. It lives right at the surface. The only thing that hides it is my mask.”
”She had no idea what was in store. I wasn’t even sure how far I’d go, but I knew I had to win. Losing wasn’t an option.”

Description:

Published: September 28th, 2015

In the heart of Louisiana, the most powerful people in the South live behind elegant gates, mossy trees, and pleasant masks. Once every ten years, the pretense falls away and a tournament is held to determine who will rule them. The Acquisition is a crucible for the Southern nobility, a love letter written to a time when barbarism was enshrined as law.

Now, Sinclair Vinemont is in the running to claim the prize. There is only one way to win, and he has the key to do it — Stella Rousseau, his Acquisition. To save her father, Stella has agreed to become Sinclair’s slave for one year. Though she is at the mercy of the cold, treacherous Vinemont, Stella will not go willingly into darkness.

As Sinclair and Stella battle against each other and the clock, only one thing is certain: The Acquisition always ends in blood.

GUEST POST
Who reads erotica (and why)?

I think erotica is a particularly intelligent genre. People go into it knowing exactly what they are after — some heat, some spice, and some story. Though most erotica readers are supposedly women, I think a fair share of men enjoy the genre. Though, of course, I do have male friends who say things like “Isn’t erotica just porn for chicks?” Well, no, no it’s not. It’s intelligent writing about the dynamics between people, and how those dynamics turn into something more.

A porn simply cannot capture the effervescence of two people coming together and sharing their bodies and more, if they decide, the way words can. Male friend: “So it’s just porn, right?” **palm/forehead** No. So, for me, I think erotica readers are not simply women who don’t want to watch porn and would rather read it. I think it’s for people who enjoy the ability to use their own imagination and get fully involved with the words, story, and art of a writer. I’m just flattered that any such people would pick me as their author of choice.

About the author:
Hi, I'm Celia. Nice to meet you. Can you keep a secret?

I write smut. Gritty, dirty, delicious smut. This is a secret we can share. I'll do the writing. You do the reading. We have to keep our relationship quiet because I have a highly respectable day job. At night, I become markedly less respectable, as you will see.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my stories. And remember, it's our secret.
