"Here is our story." - Beautifully Insightful by K.C. Lynn

18+ "This is the first time I’ve read anything from this author but it definitely won’t be my last because I completely loved this book. Beautifully Insightful is a suspenseful second chance love story with just the right amount of angst, plus I loved both main characters. Ryder Jameson is a perfect alpha male who’s also an amazing dirty talker, and Emily is truly a remarkable heroine."- Goodreads

EMILY MICHAELS ~ Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong? Like you never fit in, or you weren’t good enough? This is how I have felt for as long as I can remember.

I see the world differently than everyone else, I feel everything differently and I reflect on life differently. And being different in my world is not a good thing.

I live in a place that’s divided between the rich and the poor, the beautiful and the unbeautiful, the prestigious and the mediocre. I have always belonged in the first category, because my father was the Governor of Georgia.

Growing up around people I could never relate with, my life had always been lonely, that was until my senior year when I met the one boy who would change my life forever. A boy who my parents would never approve of because he didn’t come from money or the same social class. He rode a motorcycle, had tattoos and was considered to be from the wrong side of the tracks. Yet he was still envied by many.

Ryder Jameson was someone who every guy feared, and one who every girl wanted to be touched by. He didn’t do attachments, or have friends… until me. And for the first time in my life I finally felt like I belonged. When I was with him, my different didn’t feel wrong or ugly. He made me feel beautiful- insightfully beautiful. Then one day my world came crashing down on me, and it would be six years before I'd once again see the boy I fell in love with.

RYDER JAMESON ~ After working my ass off I am given the opportunity of a lifetime, and if I pull it off I will be the youngest FBI agent to run one of the biggest undercover operations in history. Only the case that gets thrown in front of me leads me back to the one place I swore I would never return to, and to the only girl who’s ever mattered to me.

Except Emily Michaels is not the same girl I left behind. She still looks the same, she’s still beautiful inside and out, but there’s one thing that’s very different about her, one very big thing, and it’s .

Ryder and I come from a world where politics separates us and wealth defines us, but even after all this time we will not let it divide us.

Here is our story.

A Moment Of Weakness.

I’m suddenly startled out of sleep when I hear a ruckus at my bedroom window. What the… Summer jumps from my bed and starts to growl. My heart stops when I hear my window lifting.

I shoot up and am just about to scream with everything I possess when a familiar, deep masculine voice penetrates the dark silence. “Easy, Em, don’t be scared it’s just me.”

“Ryder?” I whisper both in shock and relief. “Are you freaking crazy? You do not sneak into a girl’s room without a little notice, not ever,” I scold, even though I am really not upset, if anything I’m thrilled he’s here, and maybe a little scared at getting caught.

“Sorry,” he apologizes, sounding different. There’s something in his tone I can’t quite name but it has me worried.

I fix my nightgown, making sure I’m proper, before turning and letting my feet hang off the side of my bed. “Ryder, are you okay?”

He kneels in front of me then wraps his strong arms around my waist, and buries his face into my stomach. “I just needed to see you. I need to hold you.”

My heart clenches at the vulnerability in his voice, something I’ve never heard from him before. He’s always so strong and seems so unaffected, but right now the air around us is so thick with whatever is tormenting him that it’s almost suffocating. I wrap my own arms around his neck and run my fingers through his soft, messy hair, trying to offer him as much comfort as I can. “Do you want to talk about it?”

I feel him shake his head. “No, I just… I just need you, Em.”

“You have me. Always,” I whisper thickly, my heart breaking at the sound of his voice. What on earth happened to him?
