Start at the beginning. Question them all. - SNAPPED (The Snapped Series #1) by Ketley Allison

"In nine weeks Charlie Miller's life goes from absolute perfection to gruesome tragedy. All it takes is one night, one blade, and her boyfriend, best friend and new friends all either end up as suspects or dead."

REVIEW:

"Serial series" - hmm neither a short story nor a novel format so you cannot criticize that, in fact, nothing happens. OK, maybe to say nothing is an unfortunate choice of words, because the characters are introduced to us, we receive the premises of the game, but also, I could say, we get to know the "climax". Climax which takes the form of the prologue, maintains and  continuously feeds  the reader’s curiosity. This fact makes me consider, at this moment, that the author had been inspired when she chose the way to organize the Snapped book serial. When everything appears to tend towards a regular, simple romance, you will remember the prologue and that something serious should happen soon.

I also liked the fact that the story begins after a HEA worth of the romance readers’ daydreams. And, if you 've ever wondered what happens after, you will likely have the opportunity to learn it from Mrs. Ketley. Not in this first volume, but probably at the end of the series (the author's style is one that would make the story to be read in one gulp even if the volumes would have been longer).

Snapped, the first volume of the serial, will put you on fire, will irritate you –in the "good" sense of the word, but for your solace, you will not be alone. It seems that you will simmer together with the characters when you’ll have - probably- to choose between the bad boy who became good and the new - not necessarily - bad boy - let's say unconventional - who appears to arise the interest of the wrong person. For both partners who should have enjoyed what would have been their HEA, fate and “friends” seem to lay traps that will test their apparent perfect relationship. And above all, you should not forget the prologue!

Luckily, this series is fully completed and published, so you only have to read it in order to find out if the real HEA exists! I will. Enjoy!

About the author:
Ketley Allison began her career by writing books as birthday presents for her friends (with her friend as the main character and opposite a super sexy lead, of course) before ending it in order to walk down a path she thought she was supposed to follow.

The writing bug never left her–and, in fact, would often bleed into the official papers she was supposed to write–so now Ketley’s putting down her suit and finally following her dream. While her friends are no longer the stars of her books, she still throws in bits and pieces of them into each and every one of her characters.

As a result, her books tend to focus a lot on friendships as well as love, because let’s be honest, friends are what really get you through–especially when your epic love turns into epic heartbreak.

I'm seriously in love with using the red lipstick for a pop of color. I was going to ask here if there were plans to bundle the whole thing (I haven't fallen in love with the serial format yet - I like my novels, and bundling gets it closer to that. Plus, one file instead of 5), but when looking at your Amazon page, I saw the Twitter feed and that someone else recently asked it. So yay :) I might check this out when it's bundled (or if I win a free copy ;-) ), but I don't think I'd buy it as it is now. Besides, my not-loving of serials might make me rate lower, and that's not super fair. "Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man!" Keeping my eyes open for the bundle!
