No bad deed goes unpunished… Operation Midnight (Reunited Series #4) by Sharon C. Cooper

"This Reunited Series is by far my most favorite one. While I love Blue Roses, I immensely enjoyed this novel too. The level of adventure, action, and romance was off the chain. I loved how you also intertwined technology in this one too. You were on point with this one. I know this series is far from being finished. I can see (in my mind), the other books of this series. Good job, Ms. Cooper." - Stephanie, Goodreads

Description:

No bad deed goes unpunished…

Former Navy SEAL turned private investigator, Cameron “Wiz” Miller, has loved only one woman, his ex-wife, Olivia. She’s beautiful, talented and the sweetest person he knows. With plans to remarry her, there is nothing she could ask of him that he wouldn’t do except … one thing.

Olivia has loved Wiz since high school. He is her hero. Her protector. She understands his hesitation to search for the woman who left her for dead. Forgiveness has been a long time coming, but Olivia has made peace with what happened. Wiz hasn't. For him, forgiveness is not an option.

But the sins of the past have come back to haunt Wiz, placing Olivia in danger. He must tap into his military training and every alliance he has formed over the years to save her. But is it too late? Will he and Olivia ever get that happily-ever-after?

EXCERPT

“I want you to find my sister.”

He froze. Didn’t move, didn’t blink and though she was staring at him, she couldn’t even tell if he was breathing. That love she saw brimming in his eyes only moments ago … vanished.
Wiz raised up slowly, his gaze never leaving hers. She could count on one hand the number of times he’d been angry with her, and sad to say, each time centered around her twin sister, Keisha.
Olivia watched his whole demeanor change before her eyes. His beautiful green eyes had darkened into narrow slits, his jaw tightened, and the bed covers fisted within his hand. She wasn’t afraid of Wiz, but at the moment, this was a side of him she hadn’t seen in years. Not since the last time she had seen Keisha.
“Cameron, please say something.” She scooted to the far side of the bed and stood, wrapping her arms around herself.
“Say something?” The venom behind his words almost made her take a step back, but she stood her ground. She wanted to see Keisha and if anyone could find her, it was Cameron.
“I know how you feel about Kei—”
“No!” He stabbed the air with his index finger with such force, it was a wonder he hadn’t wrenched his arm out of the socket. “You have no fu*#&%^ idea how I feel about her, because if you did, you wouldn’t ask this of me. You wouldn’t even say her motherfucking name in my presence!”
Olivia’s breath caught and she reared back, stunned by the fury bouncing off him like vicious waves crashing against the shore. Never had he raised his voice at her, nor had he ever cursed at her. She knew he wouldn’t be happy with the request, but she had no idea he would freak out this way.
