Guest Post and Giveaway: Return (Egyptian Moon, #1) by Max W. Miller

Description:

A young lady has to learn how to function on a college campus without the guidance of her parents while dealing with reincarnation. How will she fight and win the battle against the aggressive soul of an ancient Egyptian princess who is determined to RETURN.

The perfect boyfriend...
The haunting from a past life...
The stalking by a mystery guy having his own purpose

It Started in New York when Megan Smart touched an artifact from ancient Egypt. Immediately she had a reaction that catapulted into a haunting vision in her bedroom suite that night. What she saw ignited a flame that the shy, reserved freshman used to walk sensuality right into her boyfriend, Tyler bedroom, even with her parents in the same hotel suite.

Hoping the stirring of heated boldness was for Tyler only, Megan goes to a frat party; there, she is asked to dance by the same incredibly alluring dark haired stranger that frightened her in the courtyard earlier. Resisting but not winning, Megan accepts the extended hand he offered. Their moves, their groves twined together as they moved provocatively as one with only one problem … Tyler was watching it all. Distraught and on the brink of a break down, Megan is rescued for the second time by an unnamed stranger.

On the verge of having her entire life crash in on her, Megan is ready to listen to her mother about her astrological chart and reclaim her life with Tyler. But is that in the card for Megan, or will her past swallow her up into a brand new future?

GUEST POST
Body Mind and Soul As It Relates to the Egyptian Moon Series

The study of the ancient pharaohs never ceases to amaze historians and people like me. Though thousands of years have passed, the intrigue and mystery of this civilization never died. I’d like to share my philosophy on mind, body and soul and then hopefully my readers will understand why the ancient Egyptians are still alive inside the human spirit today and why I chose them for my New Adult series, Egyptian Moon – Book 1 - Return.

My ancestors passed along a family gift—the power to dream and literally see into other realms and time periods through visions. My mother and most of my siblings are gifted likewise. It is not like the individuals calling themselves psychics, we don’t walk into a room and expound on the private affairs of others. What I am talking about is more of discernment, a knowing, or a foretelling that is shown to the chosen individual at the will of the giver who I believe is God.

Through the years, assisted by my Christian upbringing, I have come to believe that human existence in one form or another, last forever. The question of where the mind and soul (spirit) goes after it is freed from the shackle of flesh and bones is a question that can only be answered by the mind and soul crossing over to the other side. Or can the mind and soul that crossed over even remember its past existence once a new life begins? If the answer is no, then why not? Could it be that the lessons learned in past lives are designed to submerge deeply into the subconscious, offering slight nudges from time to time so as not to overrule present choices? I’m not talking about a ghost who remembers his or her wife. I’m talking about reincarnation. Ghosts are another subject.

Before my research for the Egyptian Moon Series, I had questions about me. Was I a normal human being? (lol) I’ve had many episodes of closing my eyes and traveling speedily down a long road flanked by tall green trees on both side. I’ve been a bystander in what looked like a western town, complete with a totally obsolete train. I’ve dived off high mountains and plunged into subterranean regions, seeing the aged statues of inhuman creatures. I’ll stop right there before my readers call for a psychiatric evaluation.

By now the understanding of why I write in the genres—sci-fi, fantasy, and all things paranormal should seem clearer. Now, on to the subject of mind, body, spirit, and reincarnation.

The ancient Egyptian philosophy on life after death has played a substantial role in most of the world's historic events from the beginning of mankind until the present. I believe that time travels in a circle: ergo the phase “what goes around comes around.” More and more, we are not only learning about the history of mankind in ancient Egypt, but also about this era being the prehistory for many civilizations.

In my research, I have come across different views on reincarnation defined as such: Leaving one world and ascending to a better place—if you were a good person, or descending to the pit of hell if you were a bad girl or boy. The other belief is: leaving the body behind and having the soul (spirit) and mind reenter the same world but in a different form.

Egyptian Moon – Return is based on reentering the same world in another time period. Megan Smart is presently a white, yuppie-type college freshman, but inside her memory there is Egyptian royalty

Technically, the core method of reincarnation in the ancient Egyptian civilization was to leave one world and move to another, taking even the embalmed body along with the spirit, mind, and worldly possessions.

I believe in the triune nature of humans. I also believe that death is the beginning of new life. My childhood teaching has evolved because of what I have experienced. The separation of the body from mind and spirit brings forth liberty to reprocess choices and hopefully ascend to a higher level.

With each book in the Egyptian Moon series, we hope to awaken the subconscious of even the most profound septic: enlighten, challenge, scare into understanding how life perhaps continues on another realm and in another form. The fascination with the ancient Egyptians is still alive inside the human spirit today because truth cannot die!

The question of whether the ancient Egyptians got it right about reincarnation is one of those subjects that will never reach a unanimous resolution even in the next life—that’s true only for those who believe in reincarnation.
