Guest Post and Giveaway: Much Ado About Mother (A Venice Beach Romance) by Celia Bonaduce

Published: May 29th, 2014

Description:

Look out, Venice Beach--the Wolf women are all together again. But when 70-year-old Virginia arrives with her teacup Chihuahua and unshakeable confidence, she senses trouble. Erinn is keeping secrets--like being broke and out of work--and Suzanna is paying too much attention to the wrong man--a Latino dance instructor who nearly broke her heart once before. Virginia's ready for the third act of her life, and she intends to make it rousing and romantic. Now she just has to convince her daughters to throw out their old scripts. If life has taught Virginia anything, it's this: there's more than one way to a "happily ever after"...

GUEST POST
What sets your book apart from other books in the same genre?

When Kensington Books first told me I was going to be considered a “romance” writer, I was a little surprised. Not in a bad way – there are lots of great romance writers out there, including my mentor, Jodi Thomas. I felt my book was more about following a woman at a certain point in her life and exploring everything about her – not just the romance, but her insecurities, interests and her professional life, among other things. I consider my books romantic comedies, rather than dyed-in-the-wool romances. In THE MERCHANT Of VENICE BEACH, Suzanna Wolf is chasing after an emotionally unavailable man, but she is also dealing with running her tea shop alongside her two life-long best friends, her sister, her mother and the crazy characters of Venice Beach. In A COMEDY Of ERINN, Suzanna’s older-by-ten-years sister, Erinn Elizabeth Wolf has much too much to worry about to even think about romance! She is a “yesterday’s news” playwright who can’t get a job. Although she manages to land employment just in the nick of time and romance shows up around not only one but two corners, Erinn’s unusual know-it-all personality makes life a bumpy road – even when all the ducks appear to be lining up. In my latest, the third book in the trilogy, MUCH ADO ABOUT MOTHER, the Wolf women’s mother Virginia shows up on the west coast - adding mother-daughter tensions to their lives. Virginia shows up with her irritable Chihuahua, Piquant, in tow, just in time to get involved in local politics, befriend several shy but talented young people, interfere in both her daughters lives while taking up dancing and running. Virginia also manages to catch the eye of two…or maybe even three…men who live on the Venice Beach Boardwalk. The outcome of each of my books in THE VENICE BEACH ROMANCE TRILOGY has to do with much more than which guy the protagonist ends up with.

About the author:
Celia Bonaduce is an award-winning producer whose credits cover a lot of ground – everything from field-producing ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to writing for many of Nickelodeon’s animated series, including Hey, Arnold andChalkzone. If Celia Bonaduce’s last name is any indication, she is proof that TV talent runs in the family.

An avid reader, entering the world of books has always been a lifelong ambition. The Merchant of Venice Beach is book one of her three-book deal with eKensington, a digital imprint of Kensington Publishing Corp. The follow up novel, A Comedy of Erinn, has also been released, and book three, Much Ado About Mother, will be coming out on May 29th, 2014.
