Angelo closed the door to Evangeline's office and grinned. She was an amazing woman that was all his. After he lost his wife he never imagine that he would have these feelings again but she had opened him up. She wasn't the only one that was broken and being put back together again.

"I have never seen Ms. Skyler this happy." A sweet female voice said, and he looked over his shoulder to where Heather was sitting. "You are an incredible man."

He twisted around to face the pixy blonde. She was beautiful but not like her boss, he hasn't seen any woman that came close to Evangeline's beauty. "She needs what we all need, to be loved." Heather's eyes darkened and he wondered why, but the phone rang and she quickly answered it.

"Angelo, we need to talk." He knew that voice and he really didn't want to deal with the other man that was clearly in love with the woman he was seeing. He wasn't blind or stupid he saw the way Axel looked at Evangeline when she wasn't paying attention.

He turned around and found the other man glaring at him. "Sorry I can't, I have a meeting I need to get to." He had to figure out what he wanted because working for the newspaper wasn't enough for him. At one time in his life he was running his family business and now he was a reporter.

He knew what his boss wanted and he wouldn't give it to him. He sought after a story that would make the CEO of Sky Tech look bad, and he would never do that to Evangeline. Even before he knew her and saw who she truly was he didn't believe in making someone look bad. When his family was murdered the press made him look like a monster. His own little brother thought he paid someone to take out his wife and daughter and hasn't talked to him in three years.

Axel marched towards him and he didn't look pleased, Angelo wondered if he always looked like that because every time he saw the driver he was never pleased. "Great, I need to go down to the main floor to chat with the new security team. We can take the same elevator." Angelo nodded he knew that whatever Axel needed to say he would say it regardless if they weren't alone. It was better to have this conversation with no one else around.

Axel pressed the button for the elevator and the doors instantaneously opened. Great, now he would have to be trapped in a small space with someone that clearly despised him. The doors closed and Angelo kept his eyes looking forward at the elevator closed doors.

"I have friends all over the world," Axel started and Angelo turned his head to the side to look at him; Axel was already facing him. "Before Evangeline started to have sexual relations with a man I would run a complete and full background check on him. So just like I have done for her many times I contacted some of my law enforcement friends here and in Italy. You wouldn't believe the fax I just received from Inspector Bertolazzi."

Angelo could guess what the fax said, because Carlo Bertolazzi loathed him and thought he was solely responsible for the death of his family. He tried to ruin Angelo but there wasn't any evidence to convict him, plus he spent a lot of money on the best defense lawyer. As soon as his lawyer told him that all the charges were dropped he left his home country and came to America to have a fresh start. He should have known that his past would catch up with him eventually.

"The fax said that you were the only suspect in your wife Maria's and three year old daughter Angelina's death. He sent over what he had on the case that is now cold because you paid someone above him to get you off of the suspect list." Angelo kept his face blank of all emotions.

"You shouldn't believe everything you read." Angelo said and Axel smiled mischievously.

"I gave Evangeline a red folder that had part of your background check, most of it at least. There was a lot of red tape I had to get around, but I did. I will do everything in my power to get you out of her life." Angelo wanted to know about the folder Evangeline had and if she had read it yet. The doors beeped as they opened but Axel pressed a button to close the doors. "We aren't done talking."

Angelo was done, he didn't need this. "Axel I know you are in love with Evangeline but she does not love you. If she did she would be in your bed every night not with me." Axel narrowed his eyes and tightened his fist against his legs. "Now, I really have a meeting I need to get to. Have a good day Axel." Angelo reached around the other man and pressed the button that opened the doors.

She sighed, "Nothing has happened in a few days."

"I know that is what worries me." He moved to the car and opened the back door. "Please it will make me feel better knowing you are safe." She smiled at him. She wished he was the one she had fallen for him then maybe her life would be a little bit easier. And she wouldn't be heart broken. "Fine," she said as she sat in the back seat. When he got behind the wheel he glanced at her as she buckled her seatbelt. He started the car and she grabbed her phone. She stared at Angelo's name and number. She had never been the one that called and begged for someone to come back but he was different. He actually meant something to her; he wasn't just a good fuck.

"Evangeline, I don't want to alarm you but someone is following us. I will try to lose them because I don't want to bring them to your sister's house." Slightly she twisted her head to the side and saw a car with their high beams on. "Don't turn around." Axel ordered.

"This would be the reason behind your suspicions." Her heart was racing because someone was after her, and more malicious than the last stalker. Axel turned off the main road on to a backstreet.

"You might want to hold on." She reached up to the handles and placed a hand on the seat in front of her as he took a sharp turn, she glanced behind them and watched the other car do the same thing. "Shit."

"Maybe we should call the cops?" she suggested.

"They wouldn't make it on time." The car behind them slammed into them causing her to hit her face on the seat in front of her. "Shit, Evangeline are you okay?"

"Yes," at the most she had whiplash. Again the car crashed into them but this time she was ready by placing her hand out in front of her.

Axel turned the car around and the other car took that opportunity to drive along side of them. The driver's window was lined up with hers, she tried to look to see who was driving but couldn't see past the dark tinted windows. The other car smashed their front end into her door causing her to scream. She watched the door cave in as the other car repeated slamming into her side. The glass shattered just as she covered her eyes.

This stalker wasn't just infatuated with her they wanted her dead. "Move to the other side!" She did just as the other car slammed into them. "This person is completely crazy." She heard him say, but she was paying more attention to the car that kept hitting them.

"Axel," she forced her voice to stay steady. "I do not think I ever thanked you for being a huge part of my life."

"Don't you dare talk like that I will get us out of this alive!" She knew he believed that, but she wasn't too sure. She closed her eyes when she felt the other car hit, and imagined Angelo. He was the one that changed her for the better, and he did not even know it. She would die without him knowing how she felt about him. She should have gone to his place the night he left her house and told him he didn't get to walk away from her. That whatever he wanted to say he should say it because she would be able to handle it.

But she was a coward and didn't chase him. The other car crashed into them one last time and Evangeline hit her head hard against the window. Slowly darkness crept into her vision.
