Review and Giveaway: Obsidian Eyes by A.W. Exley

REVIEW

After Artifact Hunters series (see here our review) that is addressed to a New Adult audience, what means that besides the adventure, mystery, thriller, etc., you will also have part of some scenes... let’s say "hot", the new A. W. Exley’s novel, Obsidian Eyes, is a right-down Young Adult story. Do not worry, if the scenes that I mentioned above are missing, this does not mean a minus, but just another flavor brought to the main course. A flavor that is the beauty and the delicacy of the first (or near first) love.

A love that comes with all the advantages and disadvantages arising from such relationship. A relationship full of probing, haze, unnecessary jealousy and age-specific awkwardness of the characters, but also delicate, innocent kisses on the sly, ardent passions, dreams ... if you have gone through this stage you know what I mean.

In addition, the author will delight you with the steampunk atmosphere of the XIX century, an atmosphere full of all kinds of contraptions that are more or less strange, exciting adventures, fierce life and death fights (in some of these fights is not the devil that sticks his tail, but the thrill of love is to blame). The mystery and the humor will also not miss, neither the references to Egypt and its mesmerize exoticism.

Being a novel in which the main characters are teenagers, the school will be present with all its pleasant or unpleasant moments spent in class or after them. A story that will interlink the new high society and underworld gangs of criminals in the race for power and of course for money.

For the fans of the Artifact Hunters Series there is no need to send them a special invitation. To all other steampunk passionate readers I will only say: try it! I think you'll like it.

Happy Reading!

About the author:
Books and writing have always been an enormous part of A.W. Exley’s life.

She survived school by hiding out in the library, with several thousand fictional characters for company. At university, she overcame the boredom of studying accountancy by squeezing in Egyptology papers and learning to read hieroglyphics.

Today, Anita writes steampunk novels with a sexy edge and an Egyptian twist. She lives in rural New Zealand surrounded by an assortment of weird and wonderful equines, felines, canine and homicidal chickens.
