REVIEW - What Was I Thinking? (Rivers Bend Trilogy #3) by Donna Simonetta

a lot can happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day

REVIEW:

What I Was Thinking it should be indeed the question to which both the main characters should answer. Happily for them and for their readers, sometimes, the wrong decision could get to a great, happiest outcome.

It is no secret how the “problems” started because it is shown there, in the first phrase from the blurb. There is no secret that a happy ever after awaits us at the end either. But not the end is important in these romance stories, but the journey...

What I Was Thinking preserves and evolves within the attractive and yet demanding small town set. The (almost) impossibility of keeping a secret, the interest of all in all other businesses, the split between the big and small-town folks and their wishes and the rest will be found in and will flavor the atmosphere.

The new love connection goes forward and back due to their own misconceptions about themselves and each other. Lily and Jason work well together, the ladies-man and the good girl (but not perfect if we’re taking into consideration that first “mistake”), when trying to prove to us that the dream of taming the bad boy could be achieved. The problems between them, real or existent only in their minds, are not too big but they are enough to create obstacles for the possible but improbable couple and for obtaining a pleasant reading.

As the third volume of the Rivers Bend Trilogy, What I Was Thinking is linked with the previous ones, but it can be read as a standalone. Anyway, the protagonists of the first two volumes are present and active rounding the story and the trilogy. I’m convinced that the readers of those volumes will be satisfied to see what happened with them.

So, if you are looking for an easy, quick but pleasant and sweet romance, pick “What I Was Thinking”… and learn from their mistakes! 😜 Enjoy!

Description:

Published: January 27th, 2020

A wild Vegas fling isn't the traditional Thanksgiving celebration, and Lily and Jason have been like oil and water since they met. Blaming their steamy hook-up on too many shots at the bar, they head home.

Back in the real world, Jason wonders if he's ready to give up his crown as the Playboy King of Rivers Bend to be with just one woman. And Lily has enough on her plate right now without adding Jason Braden to the mix, even if their attraction is crazy-strong.

But life is good at throwing curveballs, and a lot can happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day. Maybe even enough to lead these two polar opposites home to each other in Rivers Bend.
