The Perfect Ending
What is the perfect ending to a story? To a novel? To a trilogy? Is it what the author expects/wants? Is it what readers expect? Is it a mix? Maybe it's none of those things but what the story is telling the author to pen.
I don't think there is a perfect ending to every book. I think, honestly, that there's simple the right ending for every book.
We can't, as readers, expect everything to go the way we want as we aren't the creator of the character. As authors, we're often torn with how to end a book/series/trilogy because what happens if there's another story to tell later? What happens if while you planned to end it, there's more to come?
So what is the perfect ending? To Darkest Day, it's exactly what I wrote. Well, I think it's perfect anyway. And I hope you do, too.
