I'm not into soft, fluffy romance but give me a angst-ridden, twisted love and I'm all for it. Wuthering Heights is the one that immediately springs to mind.
I love an emotional, angst-ridden romance with complex characters and some action and/or suspense as part of the story-line.
I prefer a romance where they can't stand each other, and just fight, until they realize they have fallen in love.
I like enemies to lovers type romances as well as opposites attract. If the story has great banter that is a plus.
I prefer the enemies to lovers trope when I do read a romance. Oftentimes there is quite a bit of fun dialogue in those books. Thanks for the chance.

I love a good enemies to lovers book.
I loved the language of the classics such as Austen, Hardy etc., but found them very frustrating from a feminist's POV.

Thanks for the contest.
I love stories featuring a complex anti-hero. Those types of characters are so interesting
I love a good paranormal romance with a fated destiny for the heroine or maybe a second chance romance trope!
Happy endings are good but life doesn't always turn out like that.
My favorite story tropes are enemies-to-lovers, snowed-ins and the student/teacher taboo
My favorite is enemies to lovers.
The Secret Scripture (2008) by Irish author/playwright Sebastian Barry. Not your typical romance but the use of language etc. is so evocative.
