Challenges when writing a good paranormal romance…
Hi Everyone –
I’m excited to be visiting today!
I think the biggest challenge to writing a good paranormal romance is defining what makes it “good”. Is it the world-building, the characters, the plot, or maybe all three?
When I read paranormal romance, even though the characters might be otherworldly, I still want to be able to relate to them, so there needs to be a human element to them that makes me care. When I sit down to write a paranormal romance I also consider what has already been written. Am I offering readers a new twist on vampires or werewolves or demons?
These are all challenges I face every time I start a new book. In my latest release, BEG ME TO SLAY, my hero is a demon slayer. I love television shows like ANGEL and SUPERNATURAL and GRIM, but I wanted to bring something new to the table.
My heroine’s name actually led me to Welsh mythology. Her name is Tegan. When I realized it was a Welsh name I started digging into Welsh legends and mythologies and the book took off from there.
So what makes a paranormal romance “good” from your perspective? What do you love to find in a paranormal romance?
Thanks for coming by and I hope you enjoy BEG ME TO SLAY!

Un subiect interesant si o coperta care merita mai mult decat un sac plin de coperti care nu sunt pe placul meu. Intotdeauna am zis ca, coperta e cea care ma face sa cumpar cartea.
I finished this book in one setting. It was wonderful. I highly recommend it.
