more than the labels placed upon us - Helios Chronicles by T.M. Witko

"I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am that this series is being published. I read eagerly the originally published serialized online version as it was being written and loved it all so much. Tawa is a skilled and gifted storyteller [...].
These characters, this story, affected me emotionally in a big way." - J.Sokolowski, Amazon

GUEST POST

The Helios Chronicles is a contemporary love story set in both Bakersfield and New York City. I grew up in Southern California and thought, why not set the story in the California desert. It initially was supposed to be in the town of Barstow, California which is an area I have passed many times on weekend getaways to Vegas, but later I changed my mind and put it in Bakersfield. There are a couple of areas that are important in the story that weren’t available in the Barstow vicinity, which made Bakersfield a better choice for the setting. That was probably more than you wanted to know… LOL. Anyway, so it starts out in Bakersfield, then moves to New York and then, well, I suppose it’s not a secret that it ends up back in California.

The series revolves around Andrew Harrison, nicknamed Helios, and Madison Ellis. He has a lot of darkness in his past with childhood abuse, drug use and prison. He is plagued with a lot of self-doubt, the unfortunate byproduct of his torrid history. Madison, is smart and ambitious, with a wit that will make you grin but she too has suffered loss. Together they find a way to move past the troubles they’ve experienced and start a life together.

Getting their happily ever after is not so easy for Andrew and Madison. There are people that are against them, specifically, Senator Bowers and his son, Jimmy, in California, and Nolan Crawford and Kurtis Nash, in New York. The one thing that all four of these individuals have in common is jealousy and hatred. Their hatred of Andrew stems from what he is in prison for and the notion that because of it, he is a worthless person. Yeah, I know, they’re total jerks.

Of course, me being a firm believer that there is more good in the world than bad, the Helios Chronicles has a whole slew of amazing and caring individuals in it as well. Andrew’s aunt and uncle, Aaron and Olivia, are the epitome of love. Olivia carries a lot of guilt about not rescuing Andrew from the life he had with his parents and Aaron, is the father that Andrew always deserved. Then there is Madison’s grans, who has many of the mannerism of my own mother, which she found quite amusing. She’s one of those characters that tells it like it is, unless of course there is a Dodger game on then she wants to be left alone ☺ Then there are Jayden and Callie, their newfound best friends. Those two come into their lives and change it forever. I guarantee that you will love them. In the last book, we also meet a new character, Connor, who is welcomed into their group of friends and boy, is he a hoot. Finally, there is Elias and Liam Bennett, Jayden’s parents. I’d be lying if I said I did have a slight obsession with these two. I love them so darn much that it’s probably unhealthy. In fact, I actually wrote their back story, which I may or may not publish. Haven’t decided yet, I sort of want to keep them to myself, which, yes, I know is selfish. Anyway, Elias is an attorney and Liam is an accountant, as the story progresses, they both become increasingly more important to Andrew and Madison.

So that’s it, for now. I hope you enjoy the Helios Chronicles as much as I enjoyed writing it. I truly, truly, love (or hate) everyone in it. They are so special to me and I am honored to share them with you.
*****
The Helios Chronicles is a contemporary romance series that follows the lives of Andrew ‘Helios’ Harrison and Madison Ellis as they fight for their happily ever after in a world that seems determined to tear them apart.

It is only through their love for one another, that we are able to see that we are more than the mistakes we’ve made, more than the labels placed upon us and more than even what we believe we are worth.

Can their love survive the life he had before her or will the consequences of his past prove too much to bear.

Read the Helios Chronicles to find out!

The Helios Chronicles is a five book series which includes three full length novels, one prequel novella and one epilogue novella.

Please note that this is an adult romance and as such there will be some graphic language and situations that are clearly not suitable for younger audiences.

In the prequel novella, Helios Beginnings, we will explore Helios’ life before he becomes Helios, beginning with his time in Detroit, through his difficult life on the streets and subsequent incarceration and ending in Bakersfield with the arrival of Madison Ellis, the woman that would forever change the way he saw the world.

In book 1, Helios Awakened, Madison moves from New York City to the California desert to care for her ailing grandmother but she never expected that she would meet the man of her dreams while there, a man that would set her heart, body and soul on fire. However, this man comes with a price, a heavy price. Is she willing to pay it?

"Awesome beginning to a new series!!!
WOW WOW WOW -- When I was asked to read Helios Awakened by Tawa M Witko, I said yes and then I saw how long the book was and had my reservations about it. This is a new author for me to read and I figured that I would give it a try. And OMG OMG OMG -- I am so glad that I did read it - this is an amazing story written by an amazing author!!! [...]
[b]elieve me when I say that once you start reading this book, you will not want to stop reading until you finish!!! YES - it is that good!!!! " - Sue Ann, Amazon

In Book 2, Helios Exposed, we will find out whether or not Andrew and Madison can survive a life in New York City, where they find that things aren’t as simple as they hoped they would be. They soon discover that there are just as many enemies back east as there were on the west coast. When everything begins to crumble around them will their love be enough to hold them together? Helios Exposed:

In Book 3, Helios Renewed, we find Andrew and Madison living the life they were meant to live, with family and friends, in California. Unfortunately, things are set in motion that force them back to New York where they find themselves fighting for not only their lives but their freedom as well, against old enemies in a battle that will test them in more ways than one. Can their love stop the forces that are trying to tear them apart or will they be destroyed in the process?
