Author's Interview

Tell us about your latest book.
An Event to Remember…or Forget is the first book in the Event to Remember Series. It follow’s the journey of Sienna Harris who is about to venture out on her own by starting her own company. She’s also in a relationship that’s not going how she would hope. She grows a lot throughout the book as she realizes that life doesn’t always go as planned. Her friends are fantastic and there is the very dreamy Ace Eckelund- who is the ultimate book heartthrob. Lots of unexpected fun and drama.

Where did the idea for the book come from?
Many of the experiences in An Event to Remember …or Forget are personal experiences of mine or of my friends. Getting stuck in the elevator and I the bathroom stall at Penn Station both happened to me. Honestly, I don’t even know where many of the other ideas come from.

Who and what inspire you to write?
My husband and my daughter. They have supported me every step of the way. They make me want to be the best I can be.

Each author has his or her own inspiring journey. How did you begin writing?
I’ve always had a love for writing; I kept journals for years. I actually started writing my first novel many times over the years. Finally, on New Years Day 2014 I was listening to Tony Robbins while at the gym (Resolutions)- I started that night and I’ve been writing ever since.

What has been the most pleasant surprise about writing? How about an unexpected down side?
The most pleasant surprise has been seeing my ideas and characters come to life. Sometimes when I read back through my books I don’t even remember how I came up with the ideas.
The most unpleasant downside is many people who I expected would be supportive or proud of me haven’t been- that’s been the most disappointing part.

What advice would you give writers who aspire to be published?
So many things! The first thing is to keep writing no matter what, even if you get stuck just write something and fix it later. Also, don’t be surprised when people you expect to be supportive are not.

Are you working on anything new right now?
I am! Wedding Haters (the 2nd book in the Event to Remember Series), just released at the beginning of March.
I’m currently working on my 3rd novel- a book with brand new characters. I’m very excited about this one. My grandmother’s are my inspiration for this one- both were fascinating women. I’m hoping to release it this summer.

Tell us in one sentence why we should read your book.
It’s a lighthearted, fun escape from real life, which is already serious enough.
