REVIEW
Maybe I should start saying that, even if this is the third volume of the series, Their Rigid Rules shows events that occurred waaaay before the action from first volume. But the fact that I read the first volume first and so I knew what would be the "outcome" of the relationships that seem to blossom now, didn’t reduce at all my curiosity and pleasure to read it. On the contrary. I was very curious to see how the author manages to meet my expectations that she created for me with the book #1. That's because in Chemical Attraction I met not only a man made from "book boyfriend" material, but three, and fortunately two of them have a great part in Their Rigid Rules.
From the book description you can figure out the plot, but what you cannot figure out is whether you will like the book or not. If you are the romantic type, I'm sure that you will. If you are not, I still believe you will like it because Christina Thompson has a pleasant style, knows how to challenge the characters, how to put them in wrong positions, dangerous or hilarious ones, or to take seemingly hasty decisions, but also knows how to overturn the situation, to create a romantic atmosphere, or a standoff tension in a (more or less) love triangle. Add a lot of humor brought by witty lines, ironies and sarcasm, and awkward circumstances.
It was a pleasure to discover Taylor and Stuart, so ... non-present in Chemical Attraction, to find out more about Joe and to see that the way he is presented now is a valid starting point for what he will become, but I think we deserve some more of Eva and Matt ... anyway the door remained open...
The secondary characters are colorful and their contribution will be another plus to the story.
About Chemical Attraction I said that I'm glad the suspense part of it is not only an easy vehicle for romance. About Their Rigid Rules I gladly can say that the author shows that she can avoid that again even if the suspense is not the foreground element of the story. That's because, even if it is not the main element, the suspense is what defines and sets the scene, is the one who dictates and influence the decisions of the characters, the one who can bind, break or make impossible the relationship between the main characters or/and secondary ones, or kill them. Here and there I could say that there are some small discrepancies and maybe exaggerations, but none of them stumbles the story line or diminish its impact ... because after all, isn’t it, we can find many examples where the expression "we live in a crazy world "applies to some looney situations.
With a direct message (starting with the title), but delicate woven between the lines, Their Rigid Rules was a book that I read with pleasure and breathlessly.
Go for it!
PS: Those bolts of lightning are real! Trust me!

Christina Thompson enjoys writing about the physical science, the emotional workings of our mind and heart, and the spiritual energy that taps into our passions. Her degree in biology from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo gave her a love of science and a background into the physical realm of the body. Her diploma in Traditional Chinese acupuncture from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine taught her that the mind and spirit affect the body in powerful ways.

Sounds really good!
@All - thank you for your appreciation.
It was a bit curious to read and discover the characters years before the events from the first two books. It was a challenge for Mrs. Thompson, I think, but she did it very good. Like I said, you see that what they became has good roots in their past.
