Guest Post: The Box of Death by Matt Grawitch

Description:

The Box of Death is an artifact that allows creatures from the abyss to freely enter the natural world – our world – and Malo has control of it. To work, it requires seven magical fragments, but Malo possesses only six of them. It is up to Nikko, Summer, Jolie, and Reece to stop him from locating the seventh and final fragment. If the Wizards of Light Magic fail, the natural world will be overrun by hellhounds, zombies, skeletons, and other even more powerful creatures.

And what will happen to Balthazar, the Sentinels, and the next Wizard of Lightning? What role will they play in the battle to come? Will they be consumed by the power of the Box of Death?

GUEST POST
Welcome to the Three Wizards Chronicles

The Three Wizards Chronicles grew out of a series of bedtime stories I used to tell my daughters. It’s a series of novels about the Wizards of Light Magic who must protect our world – the natural world – from the constant threat posed by the Wizard of Dead Magic. The book surrounds three teenage girls – the Three Wizards – who have been sparked with magic. They’re led by their Teacher and Protector, Nikko – the Wizard of Fire

If you read the first book – Rise of the Dead Magic – you know that Nikko and the Three Wizards managed to turn back an invasion of zombies and other creatures led by Malo, the Wizard of Dead Magic. Along the way, they allied themselves with Balthazar, their sworn enemy, a group of normals (people without magical powers), and Zhephyrus, the Wizard of Lightning.

The Box of Death is the second installment of the epic fantasy series, and is available now. It’s a fast-paced novel that picks up a couple of weeks after the end of the first book, and there’s a lot going on. Zhephyrus was killed during the final battle with Malo in Book 1, and so Nikko and the Three Wizards must find the person who will become the new Wizard of Lightning. Unfortunately, they also have other problems to worry about. Malo has located a magical artifact that could allow him to bring an even larger army of creatures into our world – if he can just find the final fragment needed to make the Box of Death work.

Once again, though, the wizards are not alone in their struggle to stop Malo. Balthazar returns, no longer corrupted by dead magic, and seeks to atone for his past misdeeds. The Sentinels, the normals who helped the Wizards in Book 1, are back to lend their assistance in whatever way they can. Will the Nikko, the Three Wizards, and their allies have what it takes to stop Malo? Of course, that all remains to be seen, but rest assured there are still additional installments on the way…

About the author:
Matt Grawitch grew up in the Midwestern U.S. as the youngest of eleven children. Reading was a way to escape the hectic pace of life. He was always drawn to fantasy novels, an interest he passed along to his two daughters. They inspired him to transform bedtime stories into "Rise of the Dead Magic," the first book of the Three Wizards Chronicles.

In his "other" life, Matt received a Ph.D. in Psychology from Saint Louis University, and currently serves as a faculty member there. He uses the power of storytelling to motivate his students to do their part to create a better tomorrow.
