Every nightmare has an end.- Fracture by Amanda K. Byrne

There’s no way Nora can ignore the beating. Same heavy boots. Same curses, same pained groans. But that was two years ago, and this a different man, a different part of war-ravaged Sarajevo. This is her second chance. She has to try.

Every nightmare has an end.

There’s no way Nora can ignore the beating. Same heavy boots. Same curses, same pained groans. But that was two years ago, and this a different man, a different part of war-ravaged Sarajevo. This is her second chance. She has to try.

And then she’s stuck with him, nursing him, putting up with him. Declan’s an ass. He’s rude and tactless. He’s arrogant. Dismissive.

Charming. Intense. Caring when she needs it most – and least expects it. He tears away the numbing fog that’s been her constant companion and offers her a way out and a way home.

And it damn near destroys her.

Nora’s survived two years in a war zone. Can Declan show her how to live?
GUEST POST
Are They Bad Boys for real?

Romance readers love (and love to hate) the bad boy. You know, the one with the charming smile, the tattoo-covered skin, a girl hanging off each arm, yet he’s only got eyes for the heroine? Or maybe you prefer the scowling, ripped mercenary with the five o’clock shadow. Or the billionaire with the cold, flat eyes and the ruthless reputation in the boardroom.

Wait. Is he really a bad boy?

I think the definition of a bad boy is subjective, but when I think of a bad boy, I think of a man who’s thoughtless, possibly narcissistic, cares only for his own pleasure…actually, that’s not a bad boy. That’s an outright jerk.

There’s a lot of bad boys with tough exteriors, but poke through that outer layer and you’ll find a softer, sweeter man inside. He’ll do anything for his woman, though it might take him a while to figure that part out. Maybe he rescues her, then leaves her once he knows she’s safe. She had an epically bad day and it’s only made worse when he does something to piss her off, so he remembers her favorite cupcake – and brings her one.

Declan might seem like a bad boy, but the more you get to know him, the more you realize he’s got a big soft spot – he just hides it well. He needed a woman as tough and resilient as Nora to push her way into his life. And Nora needed him. Declan thrives on the adrenaline rush of the war, and it keeps him sharp. Thanks to his quick reflexes, even when injured, he’s protected Nora when she’s needed it most.

So is Declan a bad boy? Or is he a good guy in disguise?

About the author:

When she’s not plotting ways to sneak her latest shoe purchase past her partner, Amanda writes sexy, snarky romance and urban fantasy. She likes her heroines smart and unafraid to make mistakes, and her heroes strong enough to take them on.

If she’s not writing, she’s reading, drinking hot chocolate, and trying not to destroy her house with her newest DIY project. She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and no, it really doesn’t rain that much.

Interesting excerpt. I agree, bad boys may be tough on the outside but usually are sweet and soft on the inside ;) Thank you for the giveaway!
