EXCERPT

He followed the haunting music through the dense fog. It grew louder and louder, calling him forward. Enticing. Mesmerizing. The tune was vaguely familiar. Melancholy, tragic, and yet somehow majestic and romantic.

He reached the water’s edge and peered ahead, straining his eyes in order to find the music’s origin. He saw movement. He heard small splashes as ripples of current surged forward. Her ghostly form appeared. He watched in fascination as the dreamlike creature gracefully shrugged off her cloak. She glided onto the sandy shore of the beach. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t speak. He could only worship her beauty. Her ruby lips curved in a sly, seductive smile. Captivating. Arousing. Aqua eyes held his gaze and beckoned him closer. He didn’t know who she was or where she came from. All he knew was that he must have her.
