Romance vs Suspense

I’m here to share my new release, Better When It Hurts, which is a dirty hot forbidden romance about a foster brother who’s back for revenge. Fair warning: Blue is a cruel bastard and a dirty talker <3
It’s sort of inevitable that my books contain suspense. Even if I set out to write something sexy and emotional, there’s usually some form of danger. I think because my books are about survival—about emotional survival. And so the physical element can mirror that, can augment it.
Plus I tend to write in gritty settings, where danger would be a natural occurrence. The Stripped series takes place in the Grand, which is an old theatre that’s been turned into a strip club. There’s fading damask wallpaper and cloudy brass light fixtures. There’s bricks crumbling and a gorgeous round fountain with no water in the cobblestone drive. It’s beautiful and ominous.
Blue is the head bouncer at the club, and Lola is one of the strippers.
It just begs for a romance, doesn’t it?
I thought so, and when you read it, I hope you’ll agree.
