Character Interview and a Special Offer: The Parker Harris Series by Amy K. McClung

Character Interview

What is your name?
My Name is Parker Harris

Is there a nickname you’re known by?
Do you prefer it? One of my best friends, Mitchell, calls me Lupita; it means little female wolf in Spanish. I actually do prefer it. He gave me the nickname one day when we were playing LaserTag and it’s become our thing.

What are your hair color and style, eye color, and skin tone?
My hair is naturally curly and red. Being a red head means I have skin as pale as porcelain and I never get to lie out and tan with my friends being that I'm a ginger and we fry like bacon. My eyes are pale blue; they would be my favorite feature. My hair has its frizzy moments due to humidity, rain, or simply bad hair days. My skin has so many freckles you could play connect dots.

Who is your best friend? Describe them briefly.
Growing up my best friend was Jackie Martin. She's a tall, leggy, brunette who looks as perfect as any girl could wish. Lately we've begun to grow apart and my best friend has become her boyfriend, Mitchell Davis. Mitchell has blond spiked hair and he knows he's gorgeous. He's funny, sweet, and incredibly loyal to his friends. His best feature is his sense of humor which he uses to joke about having an ego.

What are your favorite food, drink, musical artist, song, and movie / play?
My favorite movie is Gooonies. My favorite food is a toss up between pizza and macaroni and cheese. For musical artist I’d say John Mayer or possible the Plain White T’s.

What, if anything, do you do to keep fit and healthy?
Well, once a month I change into a hairy four-legged animal that loves to run for three days straight. With that once a month shift I have healing powers that keep me young and healthy and as fit as possible. I still have curvy hips and a waist but I can eat what I want without gaining weight which is every female’s wish. No female wishes to turn into a drooling canine to obtain that though.

Is your family currently close? Are they a source of support or stress?
My parents and I are somewhat close. They let me get away with a lot, being I'm an only child. They are more a support source than stress. Without them, I'm not sure where I'd be. I’m lucky to have parents that care about me but still give me my space most of the time. My mom used to be a bit smothering but she has gotten better.

Whom would you contact first to share good news?
Quinn, my boyfriend usually would be the first one I'd run to. There are times we've fought though and Mitchell has been the first to know my good news.

What is your worst habit / vice?
My worst habit is flying off the handle. I tend to jump to conclusions and get defensive before I give anyone a chance to explain. My worst vice would be Mitchell.

Have you undergone any dramatic physical transformations in your life?
Hair all over my body, elongated teeth, paws, my bones twisting, cracking, and reforming until I stand on all fours…yeah, you could say it's dramatic.

What crisis are you facing at the start of the story?
Trying to deal with the fact that I'm a werewolf would definitely be considered a crisis in my eyes. For two years, I've hidden the secret and tried to deny to myself that it was my lifelong curse to be a werewolf. I have been in such denial that I haven't become fully aware of my capabilities as a wolf.

What is your biggest character defect?
I've been known to trust to easily. My trust has been abused my people in my life but somehow I still give it to all the wrong people.
What was your first impression of the hero(ine)?
My first impression of Quinn…Hot. I was attracted to him when I first saw him, then after the first time we had a conversation I became afraid of him.

What song reminds you of him/her?
Can't Take My Eyes of You by Lady Antebellum

How would you define the word ‘love’?
Love is when you care more about someone else than you do yourself. It’s about being unselfish and putting someone else's needs before yours. There are different kinds of love; friendly, familial, and passionate love. I've been lucky to know all the different types of love in my life.

How have you evolved by the end of the story?
I'm more in tune with my werewolf side; I've embraced it you might say. I also feel I've matured a lot.

Even better than the first! [...] I'm very excited to read the next in the series. - Goodreads
The Dark Moon was just that...dark. So many sad things happened, so many wonderful things happened. It was a roller coaster, for sure, but one I would gladly ride again. I can't wait to read more from this author! - Goodreads
