Zoey has had a crush on Evan since they first met in high school, but has never acted on those feelings. She has always felt she wasn’t Evan’s type and their friendship means too much to her to jeopardize. At a Halloween party, Zoey meets Griffin, something Evan isn’t too happy about. Zoey and Griffin’s budding relationship grows into something Zoey never thought she would find, that four letter word, love. When she is ready to marry Griffin, Evan decides to let his true feelings be known. Ultimately, Zoey has to decide, marry the one the currently loves, or be with the one she’s always loved.
MB's INTERVIEW
Thank you, Mrs Michelle Lee
There is a thin line between friendship and love?
I think there is a fine line between love and friendship, especially when that friendship is between a guy and a girl. Although not all friendships between a guy and a girl result in love, but I think there is that underlining attraction on some level. Whether it is has the ability to turn into something more is up to the individual.
Can we love two persons in the same time?
I absolutely feel you can love two people at the same time, but differently. I think this happens more often when you’re trying to find that love. I think once you’ve found it that’s it. Can you be attracted to someone else? Yes, but that doesn’t necessary mean it turns into love. What Zoey feels about this? Zoey feels you can be in love with two people at the same time, but the love for one may be stronger.
I saw that readers said that the final is… unexpected, and that makes me ask you not necessarily if “A Four Letter Word” has a happy ending, but what you think about happy ending in general and if it’s a must in romance genre?
If the story warrants an HEA I think it deserves to have it, but there are times when the characters really shouldn’t get that HEA because of all the drama and background. I think when characters don’t always get that HEA it makes it more realistic. But as a writer, I believe in HEA.
Whatever Zoey will choose, a victim will exist. What is Griffin’s role in this story?
Griffin’s role in this story is to be an option and an eye opener for the other characters. He’s there to be that catalyst to set everything else into motion.
What is the main message of your book?
Don’t be afraid to jump.
Are guys “stupid” (or at least blind) when it comes to love? If yes, WHY? If not, how so?
That’s a loaded question of sorts. I do think guys are blind when it comes to love mostly because they aren’t “trained” like girls are from the get go to look for it, to attract it and what not. As girls and women we are inundated with fairy tales, stories, movies, holidays, and anything else to know what love is, sounds like and looks like. Guys not so much.

So, I thank that four letter word – a word I thought I finally found for the first time. A word I actually had a firm grasp of and had clearly defined in my mind, until he came barging into my bridal suite—for fracturing my whole belief system and whole world into a million pieces. All because he decided to utter that four letter word after all these years.
All because my best friend, Evan, told me he loved me—on my wedding day.
*****
There is chit-chat all around us. People talking about what they did over the summer, what classes they have. My attention is suddenly drawn to the door, as if I had no choice but to look, and when I do, I see the most beautiful boy I have ever seen in my entire life. His looks rival that of any movie star. His hair is a mess on top of his head, it’s nearly jet black, with purplish highlights shining in the fluorescent lights; it slightly hangs in his eyes. It looks super soft and I just want to run my fingers through it to find out. His jeans hit low on his hips, and the gray t-shirt he's wearing hugs his torso, showing off his lean, muscular form. His eyes scan the room, and he nods to someone off to the right, making his way towards them. Never seeing me. My heart is racing.
"Erica, who is that?" I nod to the beautiful boy as he makes his way to his seat.
"Oh, that? That's Evan 'the jerk' Harris." She doesn't hide the disdain in her voice.
"The jerk?"
"Well, that's what I've heard. I've never met him, but from what I've heard, he's a piece of work."
Too bad.
