For a really hot... dead guy - Buried in New Orleans (Ripsters #3) by Chris Myers

Description:

Published: January 13th, 2015

Jolie's best friend Drew has always been special, despite the fact he's dead. But what she uncovers in New Orleans may mean the end of him.

Almost a year ago, Drew made a suicide pact with his girlfriend April Savoie. Jolie and Brit drag him back to New Orleans where it all happened to find out why he cannot crossover. While they make their way to the French Quarter, April's younger sister Addy steals a death speaker stone from the voodoo queen of New Orleans.

Even though her heart belongs to Drew, Jolie must face his ex-girlfriend. She will also have to find her old babysitter, the voodoo queen, before she exacts her revenge on Addy, and most of all, Jolie must return Drew to his rightful place before it's too late.

Sixteen- year- old Jolie Livingston’s closest and only friend Drew is this really hot dead guy, and it bites that the self-absorbed princesses at school cannot even see him. That’s right she can communicate with the dead. It’s the living she has trouble with. She and her mom inherited this awesome crib in Plymouth, MA. It’s quite a step-up from the homeless shelter in New Orleans, but there’s a catch. They can’t afford the past due mortgage, so Jolie’s working on that.

She starts a ghost hunting business called Ripsters. Somehow she’s managed to recruit Brittany, a glamour SAP smothered in pink, and a techie allergic to ghosts. Brit actually thinks he resembles the R&B singer Chris Brown. All that pink has clouded her vision. They both have special talents Jolie’s hoping will be useful to their venture. Right now, they’re working for a family in need of major therapy due to a dead guy with a hole in his head.

Sixteen-year-old Brittany Howland only knows one other girl, Jolie Livingston, who can communicate with the dead like herself. When Brittany takes Jolie’s haunt fishing to get him out of Jolie’s hair, he mysteriously disappears. Brittany isn’t sure how she’ll tell Jolie she lost her stupid ghost. Jolie thinks her dead best friend Drew has finally crossed over, but Brittany knows better. Just before Drew went missing, he revealed why he hasn’t hitchhiked to the afterlife, a secret Brittany swore she’d take to the grave.
"I can’t get enough of this series and we are only on book two!! This is a smooth and polished read with an incredible plot and ridiculously incredible characters. Other than my one teeny, tiny complaint I can’t find anything about this read to complain about. There’s nothing but pure awesome here and I have absolutely no reservations about recommending this read to any and all YA+ readers. Don’t wait people, get book one, plow through it and immediately begin book two. You. Won’t. Be. Sorry."Goodreads

Will keep you guessing and laughing - Kato and the Fountain of Wrinkles by Rhys Ella

"When he gets the big break he has been waiting on, the one role that will actually win him an oscar, he is over joyed at the thought of his dream finally coming true. Sounds a bit strange since he is a pug and wrinkles kind of goes with the territory." - Goodreads

Light Hearted and Funny - Adventures With Ragweed by Linda Lou Crosby

"Adventures with Ragweed is a different kind of book. It’s a humorous short story collection aimed at young adults, although I thought it would be more appropriate for a younger audience. Review - Lexi's Pathetic Fictional Love Life by Jo Noelle

My eyes search for Hayden. He’s lying on the ground, in the same position as he fell. I kneel beside him, crying. My heart hammers against my chest, trying to beat for both of us."
"When love is not madness, it is not love. "

Not every friendship is as harmless as it seems. - A Dark Road by Amanda Lance

"A short, thought-provoking novel, A Dark Road is about a high school kid making and selling drugs to earn money for college. When a new girl comes into town he reconsiders his ways, but the plot doesn’t completely follow the “good girl saves bad boy” formula. I won’t give too much away, but let’s say the ending doesn't cop out with some happily-ever-after sludge, making you think about the long-term consequences of even the most well planned crimes. I’m recommending this to everyone." - Goodreads

A journey to discover his dark side - Landfall by Joseph Jablonski

"Fast paced, where the writing is unique, intense and compelling. It is written as a story within a story. A riveting story! The characters are intriguing as well as compelling. A unique tale in itself. A fascinating tale, any suspense reader would enjoy. A powerful story of condemnation of war, and human nature. Well written and explosive." - Goodreads

18+ "“You can tell me. I've always been good at keeping secrets.”
Gunner looked pained. “Again, it’s privileged information, Laney.” He leaned in closer, grazing his five o’clock shadow along my chin. “Damn you smell good,” he said, sucking in some air. “Buy the lavender soap at the Piggly Mart again?”
I hooked my thumbs in his belt loops and tugged, pulling him into me. “Why are you all of a sudden acting so serious?”"

A box full of clues. - Missing in Paradise by Larry Verstraete

"Missing in Paradise is a fast paced, treasure hunt adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the characters. They brought so much depth and humour to the story. This is an awesome book, especially for middle grade boys. They'll love the photocopier scene--laugh out loud funny." - Goodreads

It is time for him to face justice - Animus by Thomas Evans

"From the very first line to the very last word, this book held my attention. I was drawn into the family's pain and disbelief, I hated the villain with a deep passion, hoping that he would get his own, and I cheered (verbally) at the end of the book.
If you like a good crime story mixed with a really good thriller-type write, this is the book for you!
Well done, Mr. Evans! This is 5-star all the way!" - Amazon

What would you do to stay young? - Silk (The Bloodstone Series Book 1) by Chris Karlsen

"The thing that is different about this book is that it’s quite dark and we actually get quite a lot from the perspective of the killer. So while there’s a mystery, that aspect of it is not a mystery. However, there’s another killer as well who we do not know who it is until the end. But getting the perspective from the murderer and watching as he commits these acts is somewhat fascinating while at the same time it’s quite gruesome. It’s a clean murder, no blood or anything, but gruesome just in the way he thinks and in the act itself. The other fascinating bit is seeing his positive side. Seeing the good he does once in awhile." - Goodreads

Something was missing - More Than a Memory by Amber Nation

The song was nearing the end and he gently pushed a strand of hair to the side of my face and said with a small smile, “We’ve missed you, Eden.” Not just I, but we. With the closing notes, he leaned forward and brushed his lips against my cheek, giving me the faintest of kisses. My heart broke all over again for the friend that I left behind.

His life will change forever - Stolen Fate by S. Nelson

"It was so easy to get caught up in the story line. Once I started to read it I didn't want to put it down. Loved the characters! As I read I felt like I was experiencing what the characters were experiencing. I also laughed and cried as I read it. There were several surprises throughout the book. Hoping the author continues and writes a book about Eli. I see great things coming from this author and look forward to reading her next book." - Amazon

"This book was an absolute page turner, the story held me captive from beginning to end, never predictable and absolutely romantic, it was everything I hope for in a novel. I've read a few books by this author now and her writing gets better with every story and this time around she delivered a truly original storyline and delightful characters that completely brought out all my emotions, specially the beautiful epilogue that left with with tears in my eyes, amazing!!!" - Goodreads

This time, he was going to get it - Words That Bind by Ash Krafton

"He tilted his head and gave her an upper-teeth smile, nibbling gently at his lower lip. “And apparently this form is pleasing to the eye, so I wear it often. But there are others. Tiger, a favorite. Savage and regal and the colors of flames in the night. Fearsome to behold, but very useful when dealing with physical conditions in which a human form may be outmatched. Plus, I can lash my tail.”
His voice took a teasing, conspirator’s tone. “I love my tail. You’d love it too, if you saw it.”"

Together we ignite. - Blackest Red (In the Shadows #3) by P.T. Michelle

18+"Hot...damn. This book provided the perfect combination of sizzling, sweet and mysterious. I was immediately hooked from the first page! Knowing that this is a series, I thought P.T. Michelle gave just the right amount of information on each character to keep me interested, but just enough mystery behind each to make sure I wanted more. I thought the characters were well thought out and well presented. I'm not a huge fan of cliffhangers, but even with this one, I felt satisfied, but super excited to continue the story." - Goodreads
