REVIEW
I (still) have a soft spot for stories with supernatural, action and adventure elements. Lately, having in view the wrong direction in which the specific genres tend to go, I turned to contemporary romance which was never my first choice. Rachelle Paige Campbell's Love Overboard is a good ambassador of this genre.
It is a sweet, clean romance in which love and lust are subtly discovered, combined and served in perfect doses making me really enjoy the company of the characters.
Drastingly limiting space and the personages, the author did great in building the relationship between the (im)possible (future) lovers. I liked how the author managed their internal monologues and their dialogues over the same subjects yet without repetitions, as always something different, new was added, changed. Also, I liked how their own self-discovery (... journey) was played and how affects the said relationship.
I believe that the main goal declared or not, of the contemporary romance is to give readers hope that, similar to the characters of the story, they will still find their Happy Ever After. And if the HEA is (should be) a given in a romance, the trip to reach it becomes the most important aspect. Mrs. Campbell's Alaskan cruise is a great choice despite or because of the threats of the icebergs of the sea or our souls. Enjoy!
