Assassin Alex Morgan will do anything to save an innocent life - especially if it means rescuing a child from a hell like the one she endured.
But going undercover as husband and wife, with none other than the disarmingly sexy Detective Nate Sanders, may be a little more togetherness than she can handle. She’s used to working alone, and no man is going to change that - not even a man who makes her heart pound and her defenses crumble with just a touch
Nate has dodged more than a few bullets over the years, but fighting his attraction for Alex may be the bullet that does him in. Still, Nate’s determined to help her find the missing kid. There’s no doubt in his mind that they’re walking straight into danger, but Nate’s willing to face anything if it means protecting Alex. She might have been on her own once, but Nate has one more mission: to stay by her side - forever.
GUEST POST
Hi everyone! I’m excited to be here at Mythical Books today to introduce my new book, WHATEVER IT TAKES, a Trust No One novel, and to talk just a bit about myself. I’m fairly new to this author thing, but it’s been so much fun to connect with readers and authors alike. Recently, a reader contacted me and said she was a big fan.
Wow! I have a fan—but wait!
She wasn’t just a fan of my Trust No One series. She was a fan of Dixie Lee Brown, author. I think my heart about stopped that day! So, in honor of that wonderful lady and all the other readers out there who make us smile, I give you:
10 Things Readers Might Be Surprised to Know About Me
1) I was born in a tiny town in the Black Hills of South Dakota called Spearfish. It’s only claim to fame at the time was The Passion Play, a theatrical masterpiece put on every night during the summer for tourists passing through. As a little girl, I remember climbing over a hill so I could look across a river and just barely make out the camels in the play. Exciting stuff for our little town!
2) I never learned to swim. I took lessons once as part of PE when I was in the second grade. I nearly drowned my first time in the pool—would have if the teacher hadn’t stretched way out from his dry place on the sideline and pulled me up by the hair. Needless to say, I was scared to death after that, not so much of water, but of getting in over my head.
3) My maternal grandparents emigrated to the U.S. from Russia. They had nine children and died when my mother was a teenager. Never getting to meet them is one of my biggest regrets.
4) I love the ocean. The sea air, the sound of the surf and the birds crying, the immenseness of it lets us know there is something bigger and more important than we humans.
5) I won’t watch the movie, The Titanic. I already know how it ends! Plus it involves drowning, so that’s a definite NO!
6) I love country music. I would drop everything tomorrow and go see Toby Keith if he came through Oregon! Anybody up for a road trip? Lol!
7) The journey is half the fun. I took a three week bus tour earlier this year. It started in Montana, went through Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Illinois, ending up in Nashville, Tennessee. I realize not everyone could do three weeks on a bus. I had a blast!
8) I can get myself more lost with a map than without one. I don’t know why—only that it’s totally and sadly true.
9) The book that awakened my love of reading was The Count of Monte Cristo. I was in the 8th grade, and I think I’d just hit a boy over the head with something. The teacher handed me the book and said, “Read this. Your book report is due next Monday.” Thank you, Mr. Morrison, wherever you are.
10) My all-time favorite car was a 1969 Dodge Charger with a 440 Mag. engine. (I had mine before The Dukes of Hazard got theirs!) Loved that car! Could have gotten in a lot of trouble with that car!
So, there you have it—10 things about me that might surprise you. Did my list make you think of something in your life that not very many people know? Hope you’ll share.
Thanks so much for having me here today, and thanks, everybody, for your interest in my newest book!
