GUEST POST
A Dangerous Triangle?
(MB's Topic)
I am not talking about a love triangle so much as a supernatural beastly of all kinds triangle. The three biggies! The Witch, The Vampire, and The Werewolf. Let’s bring them all together and what do we get? The Last Witch Series. But what sort of plot and possibilities do these creatures offer considering the characteristics of each species is very different? Why did I choose these three creatures to create the great action and love tension you find in my books? Well, let’s discuss. ::grin::

Personally, I am more on the traditionalist side of the paranormal. When it comes to my vampires and werewolves I like that they hate each other. There is a terrific scene in Vampyre Kisses that shows this when Trent walks in on a particular werewolf going after Faith and they try to kill each other.

However, when it comes to the witchy side of things I decided to go a whole other route. Witches are very magical creatures in my books and most beings are allured by that which is magical. Not to say that everyone in the book loves Faith, but she does have a few admirers though her heart lies where it lies. Especially in book one, Vampyre Kisses.

I chose to create lots of tension by having Faith be the one that is sought after. It made for a whole new ball game for Trent when Vincent, a psychic vampire, comes into play in book two, Werewolf Descent. I personally love drama and everything attached to it and have had my own personal experiences with being the one sought after that I was really able to relate to my characters and the drama filling the words around them.

What was even better was the fact that I could create so much action, fighting and verbally, between my characters because of the magical allure Faith possesses. Like humans, even the paranormal creatures of my books mix up lust, love and power. Which is my way of explaining why so many creatures are attracted to Faith and I see no issue with this.

Each paranormal being has there own type of characteristics, though vampires and werewolves share their need to be possessive while Faith is more of the live and let live type. Until book four that is, which I am currently writing entitled Demonic Charms.

With magic at my finger tips it leaves for lots of drama, excitement, action and fun. I can play around with my characters a lot since there is no end to what magic can really do as long as you can suspend your disbelief.

I really hoped you enjoyed my little rant. Get your own copy of Vampyre Kisses today to see what I’m talking about!
