Guest Post and Giveaway: Inevitable (Harmony Series #1) by Angela Graham

Description:

Cassandra Clarke, fresh out of college and living on her own, isolates herself from the humiliation that rocked her world a year earlier.

Everything in her life is simple and easy until Logan West, the single father full of mystery and sex appeal, moves into the empty estate next door. A guy who easily attracts the attention of available women in town with one carefree smile.

Cassandra is not looking for another heartbreak and stands her ground, but finds it impossible to stay away fro...m the charming stranger when his four-year-old son, Oliver, takes an interest in her childhood tree house.
It is through Oliver where Cassandra’s eyes begin to open to a side of Logan very few people know. The rough edges and arrogant front shed away, leaving the compassionate, yet broken side of him exposed, and finally opening the possibilities to a genuine friendship.
A friendship that is constantly shaken by the undeniable connection building between them.
With temptation arising every time they are near, Cassandra fights to remind herself exactly why Logan isn’t capable of loving her the way she deserves, or is he?

GUEST POST
Why New Adult genre?

The New Adult genre is one that I am head over heals in love with. I mean, I can’t get enough to be honest. Beautiful Disaster was the first time I even heard about the genre. I read the book and was like, wow, what was that? It felt like I’d just watched a movie. I devoured that book in one night and was left literally begging for more, scouring through my Kindle.

After that night, New Adult romance was my search word of choice on Amazon. The reason, it reads straight to the point and draws you in. The massive amount of dialogue allows you to feel as though you’re eavesdropping on someone’s private conversation. There’s no half page or more of fluff and unnecessary details describing every item in a room. It tells you the stuff you really want to know and gives you characters that are in the prime of their life.

Young love with hurdles to climb. And let’s not forget about the sex. I’d say that’s the biggie that separates it from Young Adult. NA is written like YA with sex.

The only negative factor with New Adult is that people expect the sex. My first book Inevitable has none but there is a lot of sexual tension and characters in the book have sex but there are no actual sex scenes unlike book 2. I wanted to build a slow burn relationship.

I’m not sure if it’s the genre or the world today but readers want to watch a couple not only fall in love but they want a front row seat to everything including what they do behind closed doors. I, am one of them. Maybe that’s always been the case with romances but the NA genre takes you right to the front line, nothing held back.

No matter how many books I read I can’t imagine ever growing tired of New Adult romances. I’ll be a lifelong fan and hope to one day see a designated space for the New Adult category in book stores, wouldn’t that be a dream.

About the author:
"Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong." - Ella Fitzgerald

I am happily married to my husband of five years, have three wonderful children and a beautiful feline companion that keeps me company during late night writing binges.

My love of reading has been life long but it was in early 2012 when I was inspired to finally put pen to paper and write my first story. Since then I haven't been able to stop, fueled purely by my passion to write a story and create characters that readers will enjoy.

New Adult romances are my go to books to read as well as to write. They are young, fresh and full of hope. What's not to love!
