For me a beach read is something light and fun. I am a very emotional person, so I won't read anything that'll make me cry on the beach or in public

I think generally it's a light breezy and often funny read, but many people don't like those types of books, so I say a "beach read" is any book you're diggin to read while at the beach :)

ReplyDeleteIt means any book as long as it's something that interests you! Some people may prefer light reads, others don't mind reading something dark or heavy. It really just depends on what you're into. :)

I don't take the term too literally. While most define a "beach read" as something light, I prefer to read literary fiction---and I'll read that anywhere, beach or otherwise.
