Character Interview and Giveaway Daughter of Isis by Kelsey Ketch

Published October 26th, 2013

Description:

“Her mouth parted slightly, waiting for Seth to breathe life into her own body, just like in the story. She wanted him to awaken her senses.”

Their worlds collide in California’s high desert.

The last thing Natara “Natti” Stone wants to do is to start anew at Setemple High School. She wished she had never left London. Yet the brutal murder of her maternal grandmother has made her life very complicated. The only clue related to her murder is an ancient, encrypted necklace Natti discovered after her grandmother’s death. And if trying to adjust to American life is not enough, Natti is being stalked by a mysterious, charming high school senior, Seth O’Keefe, who is annoyingly persistent in his attempts at seduction.

Seth O’Keefe is secretly a member of the Sons of Set, an order that worships the Egyptian god of chaos. Seth’s blessing from Set, his “charm,” never failed, except with one person: Natti Stone. Her ability to elude him infatuates and infuriates him, and he becomes obsessed with the chase. But the closer he gets to her, the more his emotions take a dangerous turn, and he risks breaking one of the most valued covenants of his order. The punishment for which is a fate worse than death.

The adventure this unlikely couple becomes engulfed in could cost them their lives and their souls.

CHARACTER INTERVIEW: WANDA

Today, we’re honored to get to know Wanda Winfall, one of Natti’s American friends from Daughter of Isis. Hey, Wanda. How are you today?

WW: *Fiddles with glasses* A-A-Ah, hi.

A bit nervous?
WW: *Blushes* Y-Y-Yes.

Well, that’s all right. We’re just going to ask some easy questions. Let’s start with what was your first impression of Natti?
WW: S-She’s pretty cool. Actually, she’s really cool. First day of school, she helped me so much with tennis. And even stood up to Ky and Q for me when I . . . I kinda made a fool of myself.

Has your opinion of tennis changed since Natti started to coach you?
WW: It has. I mean, I’m still a beginner, but I’m actually enjoying the course, now. I especially loved kicking Q’s butt on the court with Natti! We ROCKED! *Pumps fist then shrinks back.* Oh, sorry.

How has your friendship with Natti changed your life or point of view?
WW: Well, I think I’m a little more confident. I even agreed to go to one of Q’s raves with her. And surely you’ve heard how wild Q’s parties can get. But hey, you only go through high school once, right? You should experience what you can before it’s over.

What is your favorite subject at school?
WW: American literature. Mr. Jackson is awesome and makes learning so much fun. Oh, and Spanish.

What class do you dread at school?
WW: Well, originally P.E., but now that Natti’s my partner, I guess it would be my Advanced Calculus class. The work load and expectations are murder at times.

What would your perfect guy be like?
WW: Ahh . . . M-my perfect guy? *Lowers voice* Seth O’Keefe. Though I know he doesn’t even know I exist.

What book genres do you read?
WW: Young-adult paranormal! Jen and I love getting together to discuss the boys and how their paranormal qualities heighten their swoon worthy moments.

Where do the kids hang out in Setemple?
WW: Oh, well, the popular kids are always hanging at one house or another for their “private parties.” Of course, I’ve also noticed Seth hangs out in our local café quite a bit, when he wants to be alone. Sometimes I wonder what he ponders as I watch him stare into space—Oh, geez. I probably sound like a total stalker right now, don’t I? But it’s nothing like that. It’s just a small town, that’s all.

And where is your favorite spot in Setemple?
WW: The school’s library. It’s the best place to read.

Well, that’s all we have. We really want to thank you for taking the time to talk with us, Wanda. You did brilliant.
WW: *Blushes again.* Thank you.
