Gl...Hi everyone - thanks for checking out my books! Glad you like the covers - I made them myself in celebration of the series 10 yr publishing anniversary :-)
I've been doing this indie thing for quite a while now, and the industry has changed a bit since I began writing in 2003! I don't think 'Urban Fantasy' was even much of a thing back then! I always read straight fantasy - I knew nothing of books setting it in the modern world or adding romance - I'm sure a few were out there, but not in my little library. I began writing because I had an idea that entranced me - I wanted to read something like that and couldn't find it, so I wrote it. My 1st trilogy of books were published by Amazon for Kindle's initial unveiling and I am proud to have been one of the first indie authors on kindle!
I don't read many paranormal romance / urban fantasy books now, although I'd love to, because I don't want other author's visions to influence my own writing. It seems there has been quite an explosion of erotica in the genre recently, which is not my thing, but I think it is cool that authors are all putting their own spin on things and there is something out there for everyone!
My own series and characters are so close to my heart - it is very emotionally driven. I love some great action - fighting zombies, having sword fights, staking vampires etc, and of course some romance is bound to bloom ;-) but to me, it is connecting deeply to these characters and going through their trials, knowing they are imperfect as we are, but understanding and loving them (or loving to hate them) that drives the series - they are ALMOST HUMAN.
I hope you'll check them out - they'd love some new blood!
Melanie Nowakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13425965943910122390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1634213138919637973.post-3081254119257965512018-09-28T04:21:19.200+03:002018-09-28T04:21:19.200+03:00I love the covers.
