Interview and Giveaway Open Flame (Dragon's Fate #2) by Lacy Danes

Description:

Like his brothers, Madoc is a dragon born by blood magic. Unlike them, he has only once bitten a human in a near-hopeless quest to find his eternal mate. Watching that woman die nearly destroyed him.

Now he works to invent a watch that will rewind time. When he attends the Spectacle of Time in Paris, though, he finds a woman who shakes the foundation of his world and crumbles his ferocious control.

Ever since the black-haired man with the red crescent on his cheek ruined her family, Fina has hated him. When she runs into him in Paris, she is determined to show him just how much. Instead, overwhelmed by the desire to both kill him and bed him, her body betrays her and she melts in his arms.

Sparks fly, and-when his teeth sink into her skin-she ignites. But she can't run far and fast enough to avoid the burning truth. She is now part of Madoc's dangerous world...body, soul, and fire.

Warning: This novel contains explicit sex, time-shifting, distance-hopping, a super-hot dragon, and a woman who can take the heat.

MB's INTERVIEW
Thank you, Mrs Lacy Danes
I saw how and why you write sexy (read here). Please, tell me why do you write paranormal romance?
I love writing paranormal because I can make everything up. Grin. Sure there are some standard paranormal beliefs but even with them I like to change things up a bit.

How important are the sex scenes in a romance? How do you keep the balance between necessary and too much. Are there some traps for the writers to avoid?
Sex is an important part of every romantic relationship. They say, and I believe, that a relationship that has no sex or the sex goes away is not healthy. Every story requires a different amount because the characters are different and have different needs. A trap to avoid: Don’t add a sex scene when it is not needed to move the story forward. A sex scene is just as important to a story as catching the villain or the first kiss. It should connect your H/H and change their world.

We are surrounded by paranormal romances – what is your way to be original?
I mix things up. Historical, dragon, vampire, bear, Viking, cat, magic. I have stories with each. I also try never to simply write what someone says something should be, like a vampire should only be able to be out at night etc. My vampires are out any time of day.

Dragon’s Fate series features dragons (evident), creatures that imply power, mystery and action. How do you highlight these characteristics in your paranormal romance and are they important?
The image of dragons is different in ever culture. It was important to me to have my Zir have some base from different cultures but to be unique and my own as well.

What do you prefer to write: short stories or novels?
Short stories. I seem to write in the 30-50K range.

Are you a happy endings fan? Why?
YES! What society describes as an HEA’s is not as common as they should be in real life. Though they do exist. I feel those relationships where all parties are happy and fulfilled are a reason to celebrate and deserve a story.

Thank you for having me!!
Hugs, Lacy

Book #1

It’s easy to fall in love. Destiny requires tooth and claw.

Curses are designed to be cruel, but the one afflicting Jordan and his brothers is almost beyond bearing. A dragon born by blood magic, he is an immortal trapped in human form, with only one hope of finding his eternal mate. He must bite her—and pray she lives.

One dark night, he senses the wounded heartbeat of a woman in the shadows, begging him to end her life. Ever the gentleman, he chivalrously obliges her wish. Only to discover three days later that she lives. And has married another.

Celeste always dreamed of marrying for love, but the nightmare of living in her father’s home drives her to wed the Duke of Hudson. Yet on her wedding eve, she is compelled to follow a mysterious man who professes to know her secret. A man with curious blue scales on his muscular arms—whose shadowed eyes reflect a dangerous mix of destiny and desire…
