The perfect character for me is imperfect. Flaws are interesting and make each character different. I love that Nicolas, the billionaire in Sinful Rewards, has a sweet tooth and a secret love of jellybeans. I love that Bee, the heroine, cleans when she’s upset (putting everything in order makes her feel more in control). I love that Hawke, the bad boy biker, doesn’t care what he looks like.

One theme is loyalty. Bee is an extremely loyal person (why Bee being in a love triangle creates even more conflict). We often see loyalty as a good thing but it can also creates problems. Nicolas and Hawke, our two heroes, have different views on loyalty and what it means.

The men in my stories are often very broken. Yes, some of them (like Blaine in He Watches Me and Nicolas in Sinful Rewards) are billionaires and having that level of wealth is definitely a fantasy of mine, but they’re a bit messed up. There’s a reason they haven’t already fallen in love. 

I suppose I must base my characters off of someone. I often compare writing to dreaming. Dreams come from our own brains yet we have little control over the characters appearing in them, what they look like or what they do.
